How can we get more organized to make our voice heard at the local and national level? How can we promote ourselves through the press and media? What can we do to become more active and effective in correcting misrepresented facts and views about Turkish people?  What would be the role of Turkish Americans in strengthening the relationship between the United States and Turkey?

These and many similar questions were discussed in the 3-day Turkish American National Leadership Conference, jointly hosted by ATAA and FTAA, in Washington DC, March 2011. As one of the most significant Turkish-American events in recent history, the conference received wide media coverage. Mr. Egemen Ba???, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator was among the participants, which included many community leaders, college students, and professionals from all over United States.

TATV, as a media sponsor of the event, followed the panel discussions for our viewers and interviewed the participants, including Gunay Evinch, ATAA President, Kaya Boztepe, FTAA President, Cenk Uygur, the producer and host of the largest online news show “Young Turks”, and Marty Callaghan, film producer.
