<p>Interview with Tamer Turkman, founder of Study in America, an international educational advisory firm. Head Quartered in Baltimore, Study in America has been helping students from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and throughout the world live the dream of studying in America by providing advice and help with applications to prestigious American universities.</p>
<p><strong>Annual Turkish Festival in Washington, DC </strong></p>
<p>2011 Turkish Festival featured a rich mixture of performances, mouth watering Turkish food, and a potpourri of cultural and touristic exhibitions. This year’s special event was the declaration of Ankara and Washington DC to be city papers. Ankara’s Mayor Melih Gocek and Washington DC’s Vincent Gray signed the agreement in front of an enthusiastic throng of festival goers.</p>
<p>Well known musician Ferhat Gocer sang the Turkish and American national anthems before dignitaries including Turkish Ambassador Namik Tan and his wife. Gocer put on a spirited performance despite drizzly rain and chilly temperatures.</p>
<p>Turkish American Hour was a proud sponsor of this colorful event.</p>

<p><strong>Education: </strong>An interview with <a href="http://www.louiseepstein4schoolboard.com/" target="_blank">Louise Epstein</a>, a long-time schools advocate in Fairfax County.  Louise co-founded FAIRGRADE and the Fairfax Education Coalition, and discusses how parents can support their children’s educations by working with their children’s teachers and also learning more about their schools through research and volunteer work.</p>
