The Middleburg Fox Returns to Town for December 7, 2019 dedication
Middleburg— November 23, 2019 — The ambitious creation of the Middleburg Fox by sculptor Goksin Carey, has reached its final stage and will moved her home in The Burg.
It all started with a vision of The Middleburg Arts Council, and the town of Middleburg to bring more art and sculpture to the streets of this small town. When the idea for a large bronze fox sculpture was born, as one of the most enduring symbols of the town, one person immediately came to mind as teacher, sculptor and resident artist, Goksin Carey.
She is truly loved and admired by all and has put her heart and soul into this project. The AIM Gallery, known to support all artists in Middleburg hosted Goksin Carey and her clay sculpture for several weeks while the six-foot fox came to life.
The Middleburg Garden Club a large contributor to this project was delighted to see native flora and fauna at the base of the fox created by the artist just for the love of horticulture.

The Artists in Middleburg (AiM) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and was established in 2015. Its mission “is to nurture, develop, and provide arts educational opportunities for all, especially the youth, in our area utilizing our rich resource of local artists to teach and share their art. In so doing, AiM will support and strengthen the local arts community in Middleburg and the surrounding Piedmont area by increasing the vitality, awareness, and appreciation of the arts.
The Middleburg Arts Council (MAC) is made up of volunteers appointed by the Middleburg Town Council. Its mission is to create opportunities for the entire community to value, participate and benefit from The Arts in the historic town of Middleburg, Virginia. MAC also collaborates with other town organizations and local businesses to ensure a variety of successful art-inspired projects for both visitors and residents to enjoy for years to come.
