AWARDS WINNING TURKISH-AMERICAN TELEVISION (TATV) CELEBRATES ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY

Fairfax, VA September 26, 2015 – Turkish-American Television, the award winning voice of the Turkish-American community, was founded in September 2005 with the mission of bringing programming about Turkey and Turkish-American community life to the North America.

Turkish-American Television is broadcast in both English and Turkish.  English programs feature Turkish culture, music, and art. Turkish programs feature the life stories and experiences of Turks living in the U.S. enabling people with Turkish heritage to acquire a sense of community. The Turkish-American TV shows are the longest-running Turkish TV program in the Unites States of America.

In 2007 Turkish-American Television received the Community Service award from the American-Turkish Association of Washington, DC (ATA-DC) and was also awarded the Community Access Magic (CAM) Awards in the International Category from Prince George’s County Community TV (PGCTV) in 2007 and 2008. The Washington D.C. chapter of the Middle-East Technical University (METU) Alumni Association has named TATV the winner of its annual Turkish-American Community Service Award and Fairfax Public Access (FPA) presented “Top Producer of the Quarter” Award in 2011. The most recently, the TATV received “Excellence in Media” award at the 32. Annual National Turkish American Convention, organized by The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) , The Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA) and Turkish American Cultural Centers (TACC) in 2012.

TATV is aired throughout the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area Cable Televisions. The  production facilities are provided by Fairfax Public Access (FPA) in Fairfax, Virginia. TATV’s dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer staff has produced over 165 episodes during the last ten years and has continued to carry out its mission of delivering quality programming about Turkey and the Turkish-American community.
