Turkish-American TV Presents
Middle-Eastern Music Ensemble and Turkish Cultural Organization at the College of William and Mary
The College of William and Mary, established in 1693, is the second oldest university in the United States. It is located in the historic city of Williamsburg, Virginia. Students on campus have many opportunities to immerse themselves in other cultures through classes, clubs and organizations. One of the classes offered is the Middle-Eastern Music Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Anne Rasmussen, Associate Professor of Music and Ethnomusicology. Turkish-American TV visited the campus and interviewed Dr. Rasmussen and members of this remarkable music ensemble.
Beyond classes, the College of William and Mary boasts over 400 student clubs. In Fall 2009, a group of students established the Turkish Cultural Organization (TCO) to promote Turkey’s Rich Culture and History on campus. TATV interviewed the founding members of TCO.
Program ends with music video clips of Sezen Aksu.
